Admission to AIM is through Common Admission Test (CAT) followed by Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) held at AIM, Kolkata.


The minimum qualification for admission to MBA programme is at least 3-years' Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from any university recognized by the Association of Indian Universities with 50% marks. Candidates who are appearing in their final exam of Bachelor's degree and who would be completing all requirements for the Bachelor's Degree by 30th June of the year of admission, may also apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be admitted provisionally and will be required to produce evidence to establish their eligibility by 15th September of their year of admission, failing which they will be dropped from the programme.


  Eligibility for Army Categories
 

1) The applicants must fall into one of the following categories:-
(a) Wards of serving Army personnel with minimum of ten (10) years of continuous Army service.

(b)
Wards of ex Army personnel granted/awarded regular pension.

(c)
Wards of ex Army personnel granted/awarded liberalized family pension, family pension or disability pension at the time of their superannuation, demise, discharge, release medical board/invalided medical board. This includes wards of recruits medically boarded out and granted disability pension.

(d)
Wards of ex Army personnel who have taken discharge/release after ten years of service.

2) Adopted/Step Children and Children of Remarried Widows:
(a) Adopted Child of Army personnel adopted at least five years prior to seeking admission.

(b)
Step Children are eligible provided they are born out of a wedding where at least one parent belonged to the Army.

(c)
Children of Widows of Army personnel who are born as a result of second marriage with Army personnel. However, children of widows of Army personnel born out of remarriage with Non-Army personnel would not be eligible for admission.


3) Eligibility Criteria in Special Cases:
(a) Eligibility Criteria for Wards of Ex Army Medical Corps Officers/Army Dental Corps Officers Presently Serving with IN/IAF. Wards of only those ex-Army Medical officers/Army Dental Corps officers presently serving with Indian Navy/Indian Air Force who have served with the Army for 10 years continuously.

(b) Eligibility Criteria for Children of APS Personnel

(i)
Children of APS personnel classified as ex-servicemen as per Government of India, Ministry of Defence letter No 9 (52)/88/D(Res) dated 19 Jul 89.

(ii) Children of those APS personnel who are on deputation and who have put in 10 years of continuous service in the Army.


(iii) Children of APS personnel who are directly recruited into APS and of those who, as per their terms and conditions of service, retired from APS after completing their minimum pensionable service.

(c) Eligibility Criteria for Children of MNS/TA Personnel.  The following are eligible:-
(i) Children of only those members of MNS who have 10 years service as regular members of MNS or are in receipt of pension from the Army.
(ii) Children of only those TA personnel who have completed 10 years of embodied service.

Expenditure incurred by the Institute in the training ofstudents is subsidized by AWES. The fee is, therefore, much less than that of other reputed Management Institutes.The fees structure for 2011 is given in the following attachment: “fee_structure.pdf
